
On Sunday, May 18th, 28 students from Big Foot Union High School were inducted as new members of the National Honor Society at their annual induction ceremony. Members were selected by the chapter’s faculty council for meeting high standards of scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Students inducted were: Kielyn Bendle, Niall Blakeman, Janet Castaneda Ortiz, Aidan Clary, Ellie Clausius, Frances Counter, Alexander Cudnik, Hoyt Dase, Lainie Esser, Sierra Francis, Barrett Hanson, Ethan Hartwig, Mallory Hohisel, Ta-Kai Hubbert, Gianna Kud, Callie Lohse, Greta Mereness, Trevor Morand, Sophia Nelson, Humberto Nova, Emme Nyman, Brylee Parrott, Leah Paulsen, Chloe Pearce, Matilda Snyder, Dawson Walter, Mylee Walter, and Zac Zur.
A new executive council was also installed at the ceremony. This year’s National Honor Society Executive Board consists of Mya Gonzalez – President, Luca Perez – Vice President, Ben Grant – Secretary, Gavin Baxter – Treasurer, Sophia Stewart – Historian, Carter Ries – Blood Drive Coordinator.
Each year the Big Foot High School National Honor Society sponsors several service projects. This includes weekly tutoring, semester exam study sessions, hosting two Red Cross blood drives, sponsoring local food drives, ringing bells for the Salvation Army, hosting Lakeland students for a carnival, and supporting community schools and organizations in an immense variety of activities. The individual members of the chapter contributed over 1,500 volunteer hours to help their community.

It's the last concert of the school year! Tonight at 7pm we start the night off with our senior showcase and then lead directly into the band and choir concert. We hope to see you there!


The Big Foot high school FFA chapter recently had their banquet and awards program. It is a tradition that the New officers team for the next school year is announced. Recently BFHS Agriscience teacher Ms.Konkel was the guest speaker at the Fontana Garden Club. The club wanted to hear about the agriscience program at BFHS. The club donated $1000 last year and was interested in hearing how their donations were used to support student learning. Last year Fontana Garden donated $25,000 throughout the county. Recipients included 4 high schools (agriscience programs), feeder middle schools outdoor ed programs, and scholarships to high school seniors and a Gateway scholarship to a student in horticulture.
