District Wellness Information

Big Foot High School actively maintains compliance with USDA standards for district wellness.

The mission of the Big Foot High School Wellness Committee is to encourage habits of wellness, increase awareness of factors and resources contributing to well-being, and inspire individuals to take responsibility for their own health.

If you would like to make inquiries, provide suggestions, request to get involved or contribute to the wellness policy and implementation please contact the head of the Wellness Committee, Brooke Byrom, @ bbyrom@bigfoot.k12.wi.us

The Local Wellness Policy requirement was established by the Child Nutrition and Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children Reauthorization Act of 2004 and strengthened by the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010. It requires each School Food Authority (SFA) participating in the National School Lunch Program and/or School Breakfast Program to develop a wellness policy. The final rule expanded the requirements to strengthen policies and increase transparency. SFAs were required to be compliant with the final rule by June 30, 2017.
