The Big Foot FFA attended the 97th National FFA Convention & Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana. Members attended sessions that had keynote speeches and inspiring retiring addresses from the national officers.
The National FFA Convention & Expo is one of the world's largest student conventions, with a total of 71,096 members, advisors, and guest registered.
A bonus to the convention was the career expo where members had the opportunity to network with companies in the agricultural industry. Our chapter was proud to receive multiple awards, including the 3 Star Chapter designation, and Premier National Chapter in the area of Strengthening Agriculture.
Our students excelled in the national agriscience fair, with Evan Henningfeld placing 7th in Food Products and Processing Division 5, and Gavin Baxter and Rebecca Konkel earning 6th in Plant Systems Division 4.
Additionally, Rebecca Konkel was a National Finalist for her Proficiency in Agriscience Research - Plant Systems.
We ended the convention with 3 of our members receiving their American degrees. The American FFA Degree is the highest degree achievable in the National FFA Organization, where less than 1% of all members receive this degree. Congratulations to Big Foot High School Alumni Henry Koerner, Ryan Loudenbeck, and Ethan Jackowski on receiving their American Degree.
Overall, the 97th National FFA Convention & Expo was a great experience for our chapter, celebrating our achievements, making new connections, and encouraging our members to continue their journey in this organization.
